Zaventem, 01 October 2024 – Subaru Europe, the European subsidiary of SUBARU CORPORATION, today announced the launch of the all-new Forester in Europe.

The Forester has been a key model in the SUBARU lineup since it was first launched in February 1997. With over 5 million units sold globally for the past 27 years*1*2, and currently the third-best-sold SUBARU model in Europe, the all-new Forester preserves the legacy of this capable, go-anywhere-anytime SUV, and comes redesigned in a more mature, sophisticated and refined package.

The all-new Forester package features improved on-road driving dynamics and off-road capabilities. It preserves the distinctive combination of Permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with the unique custom-built e-BOXER mild-hybrid powertrain and an optimised direct-injection 2.0-litre horizontally opposed four-cylinder NA engine*4 and Lineartronic transmission*5 to enhance dynamic quality, reliability and efficiency.

The Subaru Global Platform (SGP) has been further optimised through the adoption of a full inner frame construction, wider application of structural adhesive*6 and increased rigidity of suspension mounting points, resulting in a more rigid and lighter body for improved driving dynamics. The chassis torsional rigidity has been increased by 10% compared to the previous model. The new dual-pinion electric power steering with optimised EPS tuning results in a direct and natural steering feel with no response delays whilst the optimised brake pedal stroke ensures better controllability.

With major parts such as the front air outlet, the texture of the engine undercover and fins placed on various sections, aerodynamics have been improved providing better driving stability.

The all-new Forester is standard equipped with the dual-function X-MODE with the motor assist now also applied when reversing, as well as the Hill Descent Control which maximises control and traction on slippery surfaces or steep inclines. It offers flexibility in a wider range of activities suited for off-road driving with a class-leading ground clearance of 220 mm, along with ample road clearance angles*7. It maintains its ample towing capacity of 1870 kg.

The standard equipped EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is upgraded with a newly added wide-angle monocular camera and new front radar, improving its recognition performance significantly. It comes with 15 functions (5 new, 7 improved). New functions include the Emergency Driving Stop System (first time for SUBARU), which reduces the risk of accidents if the driver can no longer operate the vehicle (i.e. due to a medical emergency).

The standard-equipped Driver Monitoring System (DMS) comes with improved and newly added safety and convenience functions.

The all-new Forester provides optimised levels of all-around visibility with strategically designed pillars and a large glass area, including new features such as the 360° Multi-View Monitor (first time for SUBARU), aspherical door mirrors and LED cornering lamps for better visibility at night.

The all-new Forester comes standard with a total of nine airbags including a new far-side airbag for the driver’s seat that reduces the severity of collisions between occupants, or between occupants and interior objects.

The all-new Forester's exterior has been significantly redesigned. The wider and sharper-looking front features a boldly shaped grille that connects to the thin signature lamps and blackout headlamps. The strong bulging fenders and the prominent side-line emphasise the refined rugged SUV styling, whilst the rear's high-positioned line connects the taillights and the rear gate features an engraved model logo for a studier and cleaner design. The all-new Forester is available in 11 exterior body colours, of which 2 are new (including the brand-new developed River Rock Pearl colour), and with 18-inch and 19-inch wheels.

The interior design has been enhanced with the use of 3D moulding that creates a strong horizontal line across the cabin. Seamless contours run from the instrument panel through the doors to enhance the spaciousness of the interior. The trapezoidal cross-section of the instrument panel and trim further contribute to the high-quality appearance.

It features a spacious and refined interior for both the front and rear passengers. Ride comfort and usability have been enhanced thanks to the integration of head-shaking-preventing front seats*8*9 that reduce back and neck pain as well as road sickness on long journeys. Various parts have been tweaked which also allowed the reduction of cabin sound pressure*10, road noise and engine noise. In addition, the slimmed-down headrest and shoulder area of the front seats provide better visibility and access to the rear seats.

The all-new Forester provides an ample trunk space large enough to accommodate four large suitcases (min. 508 L to max. 1,720 L with the rear seats folded down) and comes with newly added hooks and anchor points further improving the vehicle's practicality and convenience

Kick sensor-activated Hands-Free Power Rear Gate is available (first time for SUBARU) for easier loading and unloading. The all-new Forester comes equipped with a new 11.6-inch Full HD infotainment system that offers improved operability. Hardware switches for selected functions continue to be provided to minimise driver’s distraction while driving. It features enhanced connectivity, including wireless Apple CarPlay*11 and Android AutoTM*12, along with improved navigation that now supports Apple Maps*13 and what3words*14. A 10 W rapid wireless charger is available in the centre tray, while both Type-C and Type-A terminals have been made available for the front and rear seats.
